People take pictures for one purpose; and that is to capture
a moment you find beautiful, indescribable, or so terrifying that you would
only be able to use that photo to share that feeling with someone. Laurent Chehere, I feel has mastered the capture and manipulation of still life and his works evoke those same three emotions described above. His photos give a very
cinematic feel and range from simple but beautiful scenery shots, shots of
people’s faces or interacting with each other, to the floating houses that
leave me awestruck due to the amazing editing of the picture. One of the homes
is even on fire giving a feeling of hopelessness due to the situation of the
house not being grounded. Then there are the unexpected and terrifying pictures
of death. Beautiful women lying dead in pools of their blood that are taking
shape to whatever surface is near. Laurent’s range of pictures is fantastic
because it shows that mastery to do whatever he wants and is able to evoke
whatever emotion he wants.

Artist Motoi Yamamoto is one of the most interesting artists
I’ve seen as of late because he makes amazing, I guess one would call
sculptures, out of salt! The amazingly scaled works he does just makes you want
to dive into his head and see exactly where he gets his ideas. From stairs to
towers to mountain ranges with an unfathomable labyrinth leading to them is
just simply breathtaking. Pictures say a thousand words so here are some of his

Sylvia Ji has her own unique way to her express herself with her paintings. She adds lots of feeling and sexuality in her art. When she paints she adds the little details to create her art, so they can just magically happen within themselves. All of her experiences and relationships have helped shape who she is and to express herself in her art work. Sylvia is definitely the real deal when it comes to her art, she add brutal and kindness in her work and is serious about it. She is indeed one who likes to wait on the future just fantasize and wait, a bit curious but patient to what comes her way. Sylvia Has had many accomplishments in her life, won any awards and had exhibits around the country.
French artist Charlotte Caron has different works from
anatomy, abstract paintings, sketches of skulls and sculptures of hearts, as
well as photography. But the work that caught my eye was her blending of
photography and painting. She blends the two with great success and the end
result is surreal and breathtaking. Taking photos of her subject’s head, usually
side shots, she then paints animal faces on them to mimic a mask. A reoccurring
theme I’ve seen with some of the artists I’ve posted is the love for bringing two
completely different worlds, or in this case species, and making them very
singular or giving the message that we all have animals inside of us and even
though we think we’re different we find out that the two are very much alike. (The link to her website is in french, but its still fairly easy to navigate.)

Per Erik Larsen is from Bergen, Norway. Graduating in Trondheim, Norway in 2008 majoring in graphic design. He specializes in graphic design and is an art director. He is always open to new ideas and is always looking to create new artwork to add to his portfolio. Per Erik travels a lot around the world to get new ideas and grow in what he does. He adds patterns and nature into most of his work. that's what makes his art more unique than others.
