Art is where we bend reality to our will.

French artist Charlotte Caron has different works from anatomy, abstract paintings, sketches of skulls and sculptures of hearts, as well as photography. But the work that caught my eye was her blending of photography and painting. She blends the two with great success and the end result is surreal and breathtaking. Taking photos of her subject’s head, usually side shots, she then paints animal faces on them to mimic a mask. A reoccurring theme I’ve seen with some of the artists I’ve posted is the love for bringing two completely different worlds, or in this case species, and making them very singular or giving the message that we all have animals inside of us and even though we think we’re different we find out that the two are very much alike. (The link to her website is in french, but its still fairly easy to navigate.)
